ART: PAINTINGS: CUBIST

The only true cubist paintings are those made by Braque, Picasso and Gris. Even in the heyday of cubism the others were only derivative of cubism. Still it is hard to resist the pleasure of probing such a powerful event in the history of painting. And so I present my own works that derive from cubism.

The first six are painted on a substrate of license plates. To the composistions cubist layering of abstract form and real-world imagery I am adding a third layer consisting of the materialized form of a social data-structure: license plates. It's quotidien, it's information age, it's automobilious.
